I have a feature request. How should I bring this up?
First, check the GitHub issues. There are two repositories, one for the server and web client, and one for the apps. You may need to try a few different search terms because someone else may have used different words to explain what they wanted.
If your feature request already exists, you can react with the "thumbs up" reaction to the top comment. Please don't bump posts by just saying "+1" or "I also want this" unless you have something to add to the feature request. You can also express support for an existing feature request in Discord.
If your feature request does not exist, you can create a new Feature Request or talk about it on Discord.

How should I report security issues?
Why is the server located under advplyr's account and not the Audiobookshelf organization?
The project was originally started as a passion project by advplyr, who is still the main maintainer and contributor. The Audiobookshelf organization was created later. The server and app repositories will eventually be moved to be under the GitHub organization, it just has not happened yet.
When do updates happen? Is the project dead?
No, the project is not dead. Daily commits are made between the server, web client, mobile apps, and documentation. However, parts of the project may appear dead at any given time due to focus shifting around the project.
A new server version is generally released every month, but there is no formal release cycle or day of the month the release happens. Releases happen when they are ready.
New builds of the beta app are released approximately every 3 months.
The web client is currently going through a much needed rewrite and migration away from the Vue 2 framework, which has been EOL since 2023.
